Want to cause bigger waves on the beach this season? Well, a hot g string bikini or thong will turn the heads of men and women alike. Not only does a g string or thong deliver your sex appeal. It shows your confidence. Women will be green with envy while the men look at you in awe.

However, when you add a variety of different fabrics to the equation, you make a statement that is as unique as you are. The waves that hit the shore won’t just be from the water.

We all know what a bikini is.  A two piece bathing suit that can vary in the amount of coverage it provides.  Usually, a bikini exposes the torso and not to mention the arms, legs, head, hands and feet.  Our North American society is pretty lenient when it comes to what is acceptable on the beaches.  However, this is not the case in other cultures.

Muslim women are modest in the fact that they keep their head and body covered.  They too, enjoy swimming and beach activities.  However, the attire is considerably different than what we don.  The burkini, also spelled as burqini, is a two piece swimsuit that covers the entire body except the face, feet and hands.  It can resemble that of a wetsuit but is more forgiving in the weight of the fabric.  The burkini has allowed Muslim women more freedom to enjoy the things we take for granted.

Although the spelling is very similar with burkini and bikini, their appearance is completely opposite of each other.  I admire the Muslim women for their humble nature but am glad that I live in a society that allows me the freedom to choose my fashion more liberally.

According to the press, two women broke out with infections after receiving a Brazilian bikini wax and were hospitalized for treatment.  Dermatologists express that genital waxing can cause irritation or rip the sensitive skin making it more prone to ingrown hairs, rashes and infection.  I realize that any situation such as this requires caution and perhaps an improvement with technique.  However, how does this number equate to the overall number of customers?  I mean really, are we going to ban everything that has the potential to harm?  Shaving can cause irritation and fine cuts which can also cause ingrown hairs, rashes and infection.  Shall we ban shaving too?

Apparently, in New Jersey, genital waxing has never been allowed.  However, since Brazilian bikini waxing was not specifically stated in the initial ban, it was never enforced. If the ban goes through, enforcement will begin in May 2009.

As with any other cause, there are actual groups that are in favour of banning bikini waxing since it supposedly poses moral implications.  According to the Huffington Post, MUFF (Mother’s United Frontal Front) advocates that “pubic hair is a living organism.”  RUG (Righteous Unto God) contends that “pubic hair is the Lord’s welcome mat.”  What would the opposition be without a group in favour?  SHAVE (Sister’s Halting All Vagina Eavesdropping) believes “the woman’s body is her own.”

If New Jersey is successful with their plans to ban Brazilian bikini waxing, people have already admitted they will go out of state to have the procedure done.  Those that can’t afford to do so will try these measures at home which could result in higher incidence of infections.  In essence, what will the ban resolve?

Update:  The ban has been banned. In truth, it probably would have been very hard to monitor. The Consumer Affairs Minister decided it would be easier to train those in the business of hair removal. They hope this will encourage safe procedures and proper protocols that incorporate health related safeguards.

We all love a good tan in the summer.  It gives us a rich glow, we feel health and it makes our bikini look even better.  However, as the years pass, the protection we once had from the ozone is slowly diminishing.  As a result, the suns rays are becoming more intense and destructive to our skin.

I remember, not all that many years ago, when it was the norm to see people coat themselves in baby oil and use a water sprayer to intensify the radiation of the sun.  It was considered as a way to jump start a tan.  Frankly, it was like basting a turkey.  Most often, the baby oil fanatics would burn which weakened their skin making it more susceptible to other conditions like skin cancer and premature aging.

Caution must be taken to protect our vital organ, our skin.  It is important to use sun protection and be smart about how long we expose ourselves to the sun, especially during its peak hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Non compliance will yield skin that ages quickly since it loses its elasticity and becomes leathery. These days we have safer tanning alternatives such as lotions and bronzers with enhanced formulas that go on streak-free for that golden glow. Dermatologists relay that sun tanning damages the skin no matter how slow or careful the process.  However, most of us still want to have that sun kissed appearance to enhance our bikini look despite all the warnings.

Many think it’s cute to see children or even adults with freckles.  However, that is a direct message that their skin is being damaged from too much sun exposure. If you have children, protect them from skin damage. Use sun screen frequently especially if they are playing in water. Also, a hat can add some extra shade for the face which tends to be more susceptible to the harmful rays. Children tend to copy what they see so you need to be their example.

If you want to look great in your bikini now, in 5 years from now, 10 or 20 years from now, being skin smart is the only way to achieve this.  Protect your skin.  Just a final word of caution, you can burn on a cloudy day.

Going to the beach is one of the highlights of summer.  Hot sexy bodies in string bikinis all make a claim to their spot on the sand.  People sprawled out everywhere on some form of barrier between their body and the granular crystals to bask in the sun.  The smell of water and sun tanning oils is very apparent.  Ahhh, the joys of summer.

However, not all visits to the beach remain pleasant.  Women have often experienced the playful outbursts of kids, young and the overgrown ones as well.  While walking by, someone decides it would be funny to pull open the ties on an unsuspecting woman wearing a string bikini.  As a result, humiliation and/or anger have replaced what was a joyful relaxing day.

So what is the best way to tie your string bikini?  Some have resorted to sewing the strings together.  This will work if the ties have a little stretch to them.  However, it is not very convenient as it makes it more difficult to get in and out of.  Plus, the undo stretching of the fabric that is caused by this method tends to wear down the fibers and shorten the life of your swimwear. Tying your strings in a traditional bow, like you would a pair of shoes, obviously isn’t the best solution either.  Try double starting the knot first.  The illustration to the left is an example of this. Then proceed to make a bow in the traditional way.  Adding this second step will provide you with some extra security and allow you to focus on the activities you have set out to do.

Tying your string bikini using the double starting method will not ruin the fabric like sewing the ties together.  It will give you enough freedom to undo your string bikini when you need to while preventing others from playing childish jokes on you.  As a result, your day at the beach will remain a positive one with your honor intact.

Cruise ship personal are warning passengers of this law which went into effect in 2010 to prevent any mishaps. According to the Associated Press, several visitors have already been asked to return to the cruise ship and put on some clothes.  So I guess if you are planning on vacationing in the vicinity of Grenada, you better be completely covered.  Bikinis, swimwear or bathing suits of any kind are not allowed off the beach. Saggy pants revealing underwear, well, let’s just leave it at that.

Just recently, Barcelona jumped on this same bandwagon. Their fines run as much as $426 Canadian for the most extreme penalty. Locals are not impressed by the state of undress that they encounter, primarily with tourism, but have yet to state definitively what is considered appropriate.

In Lebanon, women have been prohibited by law since 1941 from wearing bikinis, period. However, the penalty for disobeying has never been updated to currency that is in effect today. Despite this age old law, more and more women take to the beaches in their bikinis.

Planning travels outside of your country? It is best to be aware of the laws of your destination. Failure to do so could result in a more costly vacation or even time in jail.

The bikini was constructed from Antron and Lycra fabric both of which are assumed to be quality fibres.  However, Antron is made of hollow filaments and depending on the percentage used; it could have the capability of becoming completely transparent.  Lycra is a quality fabric in that it is even stronger than rubber.  Most high-end swimwear generally use about 20% Lycra in their construction.  As a result, it could be assumed that the bikini this woman bought had a very high content of Antron.

After, what the woman portrayed as an embarrassment, went to the boutique requesting a lining to be sewn into the bikini.  The boutique refused and as a result, the woman took the boutique to court and won.  For those seeking a see through bikini, this would have been the perfect choice.  Resultantly, the boutiques sales soared and the woman who was once unnoticed, had become somewhat of a celebrity.

This case is not the norm as most swimwear outlets clearly state the content used for their products.  A quality bikini is made from a Nylon-Lycra combination.  It does have the capability of becoming transparent but most use lining unless stated otherwise.  For those who desire a see through bikini, other fabrics such as gauze and mesh are also used.

Pamela Anderson always makes for big news where ever she goes.  At the age of 43 she is still considered a very hot and sexy woman.  Her confidence has been revealed many times over the years.  She has appeared on television and the front cover of magazines.  When she travels, the media is sure to provide us with photos.

As with many other times, Pamela was spotted on the beaches of Malibu in a skimpy bikini and, of course, the cameras were there to verify.  The gossip columns can fill you in on the rumors of what they believe is going on in her life.  But the reason I have chosen to relay any of this is, to make a point.  If we take that fine microscope that we use to examine our imperfection which in turn gives us a reason to feel uncomfortable with our body, how about we examine someone else like Pamela.  If you look really closely, she has cellulite on her rear thighs.  Do you think this stops her from feeling good about herself? Does this prevent her from wearing the clothes that she loves? Obviously not.

So my point is this.  Every one of us have imperfections and areas that can be improved upon with our body.  If you aren’t happy with how your body looks, by all means work on it.  However, these things that we see as faults should not be our guide to limit us from wearing the things that we love.  Sun and sand work simultaneously with bikinis.  Put down the magnifying glass and enjoy the beaches like you should, with confidence.  You can look scandalous in a bikini.
